Volunteers contribute the time and talents to operate and maintain the museum. They help ensure that our local history and culture continue to be honored and enjoyed by present and future generations. Their kindness and generosity is much appreciated and valued. The museum cannot operate without them! Please consider joining our volunteer team and see what a difference you can make.

Volunteering involves more than just picking up trash and dusting:

  • It's an opportunity to learn/improve skills by working with previous volunteers

  • Develop teamwork habits that carry over to personal/professional lives

  • Seasonal volunteers are members and/or long-time residents of Barron County who enjoy sharing knowledge and experience with new volunteers, passing on valuable life lessons and Barron County history.

  • Volunteers working at the museum for even a day go home knowing more about their community, Wisconsin and U.S. history.

  • Kids are welcome to join in the fun.

Prior to each season:
  • Grounds need to be cleared of all debris

  • Grounds need raking and mowing

  • Buildings need to be opened and cleaned

  • Events need to be planned

  • Exhibits need to be dusted and updated
