Season hours are Thursday, 1-4 PM; Friday, 1-4 PM; Saturday 11 AM - 4 PM; Sunday, 1-4 PM. The regular season runs from June 2 through August 28. The museum is open Saturdays during September from 1-4 PM.

Flea Market
June 11, 2022
Please join us for our 5th Annual Outdoor Flea Market, to be held at the Pioneer Village Museum grounds on Saturday, June 5th. This is an all-day event, with vendors setting up between 8 – 10 AM, and the Flea Market running from 10:00 AM until 3:00 PM.
There will be no gate admission charged that day, so spread the word – FREE Admission! Visitors will not only enjoy the opportunity to shop for treasures, but also to wander through the Pioneer Village and Display buildings. If you are interested in offering a Make-N-Take, please let us know. The Pioneer Grill will be open for the dining pleasure of vendors and guests alike. This should be a fun event for everyone.

Pioneer Life Day Camp
June 14-16, 2022
August 9-11, 2022
The Pioneer Camp experience introduces children to daily life in Northwest Wisconsin in the late 1800’s. Campers will feed the chickens, water the garden, wash clothes with a wash board, attend a one-room school, make ice cream with a hand-cranked churn, weave a basket, pump water from the well, and more.
Two separate sessions of this camp are offered this year for more opportunities, as this was a popular offering in the past.

Midsomer's Eve

Three years ago, the Pioneer Village Museum joined together with the Sons of Norway - Dovre Lodge to bring Midsummer Eve traditions to the Barron County community.
The celebration includes an evening bonfire. Guests are welcome to wear traditional attire.
Bring your friends and family for an evening of cultural learning and fun!

Quilts & Strawberries Festival
June 25th-26th, 2022
Strawberry jam, fresh strawberries and plenty of other strawberry items will be available for purchase. We’ll be serving delicious strawberry desserts out of the Pioneer Kitchen, featuring fresh picked berries, along with strawberry pie. An open Quilt Show featuring the work of local quilting artisans will be in the Cultural Arts Building and Ebenezer Church. There might even be a quilt or two for sale. If you’d like to display or sell some of your quilt work, give us a call at 715-458-2080. Churches and organizations are more than welcome to display and sell quilts for fundraising purposes.

Native American Heritage Day Camp
July 6-8, 2022
This 3-day camp is for ages 7 to 15. Attendees will explore the history and culture of Native Americans living in northwest Wisconsin during the 1800's to the present day, with a focus on the traditional lifestyle. Some of the activities campers will take part in include traditional games, foods, cooking over a fire, drumming, dancing, and crafts.

Native American Heritage Days
July 8-9, 2022
Our Second Annual Native American Heritage Days will be held at the Pioneer Village Museum grounds July 8th-9th. This two-day event will allow visitors to learn about and celebrate Native American heritage, a critical part of Barron County history.

Heritage Days
July 16th-17th, 2022
The past comes alive at Pioneer Village Museum for two fun-filled days every July! Heritage Days is one of the Museum's largest and most popular events.
The caboose will also be open, the General Store will be open with a full remodel, the beautiful Ebenezer Church has a new paint job, and the Golden-Laced Wyandotte chickens have returned to the village! These are just a few of the things to see - if you haven't been to the museum in a while, there is much, much more to take in that happened in the last year!

Frontier Living Day Camp
July 27-29, 2022
The Frontier Living Camp experience introduces children to daily life on the frontier. Campers will learn about survival skills from the frontier, how to basic shelter was created, and will get to experience the tools of frontier life. This camp overlaps with the Red Cedar River Rendezvous event, which will give the campers a chance to meet and learn from frontier re-enactors.

Celebrate the role women play in Barron County's history - and our world history - at the Pioneer Village Museum. We'll bring to light rights, achievements and progress won by women in a historical context.

Past Reflections Car Show
August 13th 2022
The Pioneer Village Museum and the Past Reflections Car Club will join forces once again. This is one of the most popular car shows in Northwest Wisconsin. Cars will be on display from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm and the museum will be open until 5:00 pm. The Pioneer Kitchen will be open for your dining pleasure, as well.
Car show attendees are encouraged to visit the museum’s own display of antique and unique vehicles housed in the machinery building at the north end of the museum grounds.

Old-Fashioned County Fair
August 20th - 21st, 2022
Immerse yourself in some good old fashioned fun. Carnival games, contests of skill, and juggling are just a sample of what you can expect. Cheer on a team during Sunday’s Vintage Baseball games. The list goes on and on.
Just for fun, enter your artwork, sewing, fancy work, photography, garden crops, canned goods, baked goods, flowers or a woodworking project, to compete with your friends and neighbors for a ribbon and bragging rights. Entries will be accepted from 10 am – 12 pm. Judging will begin at noon. If you have any questions, please call us at 715-458-2080.
Other events include Bingo and a Pie and Ice Cream Social.

Bluegrass Festival
September 9th-11th, 2022
This three-day event fills the beautiful Pioneer Village historical park with toe-tapping music from 5 PM Friday until 5 PM Sunday. More info TBA.

Oktoberfest

Celebrate Barron County's German heritage with Oktoberfest! This popular, world-wide celebration is now local and on the beautiful Pioneer Village Museum grounds. Traditional clothing is welcome, but anyone is able to attend!

Christmas in the Village

Christmas in the Village returns! Join us from 2 - 6 PM for a holiday celebration in the Pioneer Village. This event has something for all ages and is a great opportunity to spend time with friends and family for winter fun. Lots of things to do and see!
